研究の背景・概要

日本は、精神科病床が世界一多く、入院中心の医療が長期にわたって継続してきた。退院後は家族の多くが同居して精神障がいをもつ子を日常的にケアしている。また、訪問診療や訪問看護も不足している上、偏見も強く、精神障がいを持つ子と高齢な親が孤立して生活している「8050問題」が社会問題となっている。そのような孤立家庭において当事者から親に暴力が向きやすく、家族間殺害や監禁事件等が起きており、社会的に大きな問題となっている。神疾患当事者の一般市民への暴力に関する研究は蓄積されているが、家族に向く暴力に関する研究は世界的に不足しており、neglected research area(Solomon et al., 2005)、last taboo(Onwumere et al., 2019)と言われる研究領域である。アンケート調査、インタビュー調査、プログラム開発を行った。書籍も２冊公表した。
